Introduction:

ADENDUM TO BELOW:  Since we published this page, Breana (formerly anonymous) requested and received the Bakersfield Police Department Offense Report.  You can read that in full by clicking on this navigation link:  2009 BPD Offense Report

On September 12, 2025, Justice for Waldport (JFW) received an email from an anonymous source using “Greg Dunn” as the subject heading. A second anonymous communication was received on September 23, 2025, providing additional information related to concerns previously communicated regarding Mr. Dunn.

JFW subsequently contacted law enforcement and the district attorney and later retained a private investigator who initiated efforts to collect records associated with Sheila and Greg Dunn’s history with the California Department of Social Services. Records and related materials began to become available in April 2026, at which point JFW decided to begin informing the community by sharing the public records and related documentation that had become available to us at that time. Additional materials and records continued to become available thereafter.

After reviewing materials published by JFW in April 2026, the individual who had previously communicated anonymously has chosen to come forward publicly, reveal her identity, and provide the following formal written statement:

The following email was sent by Breana to Sheila Dunn on July 14, 2024. In the email, Breana reflects on her personal experiences, the loss of family relationships she describes as resulting from her decision to report concerns to California Department of Social Services officials regarding child safety issues, and the lasting impact those events had on her life. The email expresses forgiveness, grief, and a desire for closure as she continues her personal healing journey and moves forward from experiences she describes as connected to concerns about the safety and well-being of children in a licensed child care environment.
