On September 12, 2025, we received an anonymous email stating:
Subject: Greg Dunn
“I am submitting this information anonymously because I fear retaliation. I urge you to review this individual’s background and reasons for leaving California. There have been multiple allegations in the past involving inappropriate conduct with minors and a history of violent behavior, including an incident where he was reportedly arrested after a workplace dispute. While I do not know the outcomes of these cases, I believe this history raises serious concerns about his suitability for public office. I request that your office investigate and take appropriate action to ensure the safety of the community. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.”
While the content of this message was concerning, we were also cautious about acting on anonymous claims—particularly given the heightened tensions in the community at the time, including ongoing efforts to recall Waldport's six city councilors--one of them being Council President Greg Dunn. We did not want to respond impulsively or assume the information was being shared in good faith, nor did we want to ignore what could potentially represent a serious threat to community safety if substantiated.
Nearly two weeks later, the individual contacted us again, still anonymously, but this time provided additional details related to their original claims. At that point, we determined the information warranted further review and began a preliminary investigation. This process has been ongoing for several months and remains in its early stages.
We recently acquired publicly available records and documents obtained through lawful means. In keeping with our coalition’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and integrity, we believe the community should be informed of the existence of this inquiry and the materials we are examining.
Below, you will find selected documentation related to Greg and Sheila Dunn.
We intend to continue examining documents. If and when we determine additional materials have merit and are appropriate to our efforts, we will add them to this page and notify the public accordingly.
