Signature Verification
Underway.  Deadline for Lincoln County Clerk to
to complete this process:

June 3
2026

If the Lincoln County Clerk verifies the petition signatures and confirms that enough valid signatures have been submitted to qualify for a recall election, the process will move to a special election. At that point, the City Recorder will be notified and will, in turn, notify the six City Councilors. Each councilor will then have five days to decide whether to proceed with the special election or resign from office.

This page will be updated as new information becomes available.

Waldport residents are increasingly engaged in conversations about the direction of their local government. As part of that broader civic engagement, efforts to recall six city councilors are currently underway.

Our coalition is committed to supporting informed community awareness. As part of that mission, we provide access to publicly available information and resources so that individuals can better understand the recall process and decide for themselves how they wish to engage.

Our Role & Independence:

We are not a Political Action Committee, nor are we affiliated with, coordinated with, or acting on behalf of any recall committee. Our decision to facilitate access to publicly available information and points of contact is made independently of any other committee or organization, and solely to allow community members to obtain information and engage directly if they choose. This may include linking to or hosting publicly available documents, such as petition forms, as well as directing users to official government resources, including Oregon Secretary of State's voter registration information, all for informational purposes only. We do not participate in, manage, direct, or otherwise assist in petition circulation or signature-gathering activities. From time to time, we may also share commentary or expressive content related to local civic issues; any such content reflects independent viewpoints and should not be interpreted as coordination with or on behalf of any recall committee. Some individuals in the community may participate in multiple civic efforts. Any such participation is in an individual capacity only and does not create any affiliation, coordination, or shared decision-making between this coalition and any recall committee. Any digital media, signs, banners, or similar materials we use are created independently for our coalition and are designed and paid for solely by volunteers with Justice for Waldport.

About the Recall Process:

For Waldport residents, signing a recall petition allows the question of recall to be placed on the ballot for community consideration. The deadline to sign is May 4, 2026. Each petition requires 200 valid signatures to qualify for the ballot.

Signing a petition is only the first step in the process. It is not a vote to recall. Rather, it indicates support for allowing the broader Waldport community to decide the matter through an election.

Accessing Information and Resources:

The following resources are provided to help community members learn more and, if they choose, engage directly with the process:

Waldport’s future is ultimately determined by its residents. We encourage all community members to seek out information, ask questions, and participate in the civic process in the manner they feel is appropriate.
