Justice for Waldport is an informal, volunteer coalition based in Waldport, Oregon. Our members represent a broad range of political, religious, educational, and professional backgrounds, united by a shared commitment to transparent, accountable local government that earns and maintains the public's trust.
We came together on April 4, 2025, following the unconstitutional expulsion of Mayor Heide Lambert by six members of the city council. We believe this action reflects a broader pattern of unethical—and potentially unlawful—decision-making by those council members.
Our coalition is committed to promoting transparency, ensuring that Waldport's city government is held accountable for its past actions and ongoing conduct, and restoring public confidence in local government. We also insist that the city council fulfill its responsibility to exercise diligent fiscal oversight, including proper supervision of the municipality's Finance Director and City Manager.
Waldport's residents deserve leadership that honors democratic principles, practices sound governance, and is worthy of the public's trust.
